Once The Musical is the stage adaptation of a 2006 film of the same name and revolves around a Dublin busker, named only as ‘guy’, and a Czech flower seller, known only as ‘girl’. They first meet in a local pub where he is playing. The girl asks him personal questions about the song he had just performed, he is reluctant to talk about such things but, after her not giving up and a short exchange, she finds out that his ex-girlfriend inspired the song when they broke up and she moved to New York.
When the financial crisis hit, London felt it and felt it badly. We saw big high street banks such as Northern Rock closing their doors in front of a long line of impatient customers wanting to know their money is safe. We also saw many banks struggling to make ends meet and having to ask for bailouts.
4 Years ago at a 'Cup 'o Joe' panel (San Diego Comic Con 2009) we found out that Marvel had acquired the publishing rights of Marvelman, thanks to Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada. Then came a follow-up announcement a few months later that Marvel.
How many times have you found yourself in love with a new show only to find out that the network has done the most stupid thing possible and cancelled it? Does this sound familiar? Many of us moaned, groaned and stomped our feet when Firefly was cancelled.
As women, we love to accessorise whenever possible, but many of us find this an almost impossible task when it comes to our autumn wardrobe. This season usually brings warmer clothes and the longing to snuggle up under a duvet on the sofa… but we usually aren’t this lucky. We have to go out, to social events and to do the dreaded weekly supermarket runs, but why should we compromise on our style during this time?
When shopping for a new wiggle dress or some gorgeous Mary Jane’s, the majority of people straight away think Camden Town. It seems to have everything – big name vintage brands, smaller and more...
Haunting Starring Polterguy is a 1993 video game released for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis by Electronic Arts. It took advantage of Sega's Video Game Ratings Council to include various spooky themes, including blood.
Safe may not be the first word that enters your mind when thinking of Formula One. The team engineers though are constantly researching, reassessing and re-engineering the cars to make them as safe as they possibly can without compromising on performance. This is exactly why Allianz knew that Formula One was a perfect partner for their road safety campaigns.
Last year there were 195,723 casualties on our roads (figures from the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCCS) Reported Road Accident Statistics). That’s a harrowing statistic and even though this is lower than the previous year (203,950, making last year a fall of 4%) it’s still not good enough.
Vintage clothing has become incredibly fashionable in recent years, partly because of a vintage revival in the movies (think ‘The Artist’ and ‘Hairspray’) and partly because some people are just fed up with new fashion being boring and are looking for something with more class and statement. Fashion designers also have a habit of revisiting bygone eras, such as the 60’s or the 80’s, bringing past trends back around in a modern setting.
Some say your adventure begins when you first start to interact with the local culture of your chosen destination, but I believe adventure truly begins when you first set foot off the plane into that new, exciting world. Obviously, you’ll be taking with you numerous things that every traveller needs – a good appetite, willingness to learn, eagerness to explore and a good camera to remember it all with.
Back in January, Panasonic treated us to a brand new addition to the ever growing Lumix product range – the TZ40. This is a camera that’s ideal for travellers with its sleek and stylish design, portability and extensive features, making it possible to take great shots and share them with your nearest and dearest from anywhere in the world.
With any outfit, accessories are the crowning glory. So with this in mind, what are the must-have pieces of the upcoming AW13 season? There are a lot of trends going around for this coming Autumn/Winter that will perfectly match any of this season’s must have outfits. One huge thing is forget minimalism, it’s out… way out!
In these cold, wintery days we’re usually bundled up in scarves, hats and gloves or nursing some kind of warm beverage to keep us cosy, these are the days that seem to never end. Most of us – if we’re honest – get grumpy, tired and less sociable around this time and are in some kind of hibernation state until at least spring.
Now, I'm not one to brag usually but this is a rare instance where I feel compelled to do just that. I have been extremely lucky in my life to have met and become friends with some pretty amazing and talented people - many of these are involved in the crea.
With hundreds of different styles of headphones on the market today, it’s often hard to pick a pair that you know will suit you whilst providing the best sound and value for money. Stylish headphones can often look great but lack base, depth, noise cancelation or balance which makes the whole experience bad and pointless, not to mention a waste of your hard earned cash.
